DailyFanRacing Newsletter - Charlotte-Monaco
The greatest weekend in racing is finally here! It will be a hectic one from a content standpoint but I absolutely love all the racing action we get on this weekend every year.
On a personal note, sorry it has been so long since I have sent out one of these newsletters. The life of multiple jobs, kids, moving, etc. has made life challenging and the newsletter has taken a backseat. Hell, I haven’t even had a chance to do a Lego set in almost a month. If you know anything about me, you know that’s saying something.
I hope you guys enjoy this one though and thanks for sticking around.

Truck Series
The action kicks off Friday with the Truck Series and the Corey Heim show.
Once again it should be Heim vs Busch with the latter hopefully being more of a challenge this time around. Charlotte has been an amazing track for Busch in the Truck Series and the Spire 7 truck has been fast with Hocevar behind the wheel on intermediates as of late. I do believe it is an important distinction this week that Busch is in the 7 truck with Brian Pattie as his crew chief and not the 07 truck. Also, for what I believe might be the first time in Truck Series DFS history, somebody is priced higher than Kyle Busch.
Corey Heim is the guy to beat this year. His speed is unmatched. This will surely flood ownership his way. Hopefully Busch can present a challenge for him and make for a fun DFS slate.
There are a lot of random drivers showing up to run this Truck race including Ross Chastain in the 44, BJ McLeod driving for Spire, Kligerman is here with the 75 team, and we have the return of Timmy Hill.
The one driver that is really standing out for me though heading into the weekend is Rajah Caruth. Rajah was $9,000 on DK for the Rockingham race four races ago. He finished P4 in that race. The following week he was $8,400 and finished P3 at Texas. He enters this weekend at $7,100 with those two top 5 finishes to his name. He also finished 7th at Vegas earlier this year. Caruth at this price could offer a lot of value this weekend.
Xfinity Series
Race number two on the weekend will be the Xfinity Series race. Justin Allgaier will be the main player from the Xfinity field but we do have a few Cup drivers dropping in to price things up.
Austin Dillon will driver for RCR in the #3 car marking the first time he has driven for RCR in the Xfinity Series since 2018. Dillon won both the races here in 2015. I know people are going to sleep on him. It will be interesting to see how he performs.
Chase Briscoe will be in the 19 car for Joe Gibbs Racing. Briscoe is a driver that I am really eyeing up for this weekend. It is easy to forget the year 2020 but Briscoe won 9 out of 33 races that season in the Xfinity Series. This time around he gets to jump in a JGR car that will likely be the best thing he has ever driven. He could have that huge dominator potential we have seen from Almirola and Nemechek when moonlighting in this ride.
The last big name racing on Saturday is William Byron. Byron will be in the 17 car for HMS. This is the same car that won this race in last year with Chase Elliott. Elliott was an 8th place car all day in that race but they saved a set of tires and used them at the right time to pull off the victory. Byron comes in as the most expensive driver on the slate.
These guys are all priced above 10k on DraftKings and getting them right will be the key to the slate.
Cup Series
The Coke 600 is probably my favorite race of the year. I love the idea of a long endurance race where you have to perform at your best for 4+ hours. I also love how this car performs on this track. The tire wear situation is great. The multiple grooves allows for drivers to move around and make passes. The track is a true challenge for the drivers. We saw 18 cautions in 2022, 16 cautions in 2023, and 7 in the rain shortened race in 2024, although we were certainly on pace for double digit cautions again.
In a race with 400 laps, we are always going to look for a bare minimum of two dominators. In the 2023 race we had four drivers that I would classify as dominators.
Ryan Blaney led 163 laps with 79 fast laps. William Byron only had 14 fast laps but he led 91 laps and finished P2 showing how important track position can be. Tyler Reddick finished 5th with only 28 laps led but he racked up 37 fast laps and had 10 PD points to pair with it. Lastly, Bell led 48 laps and had 28 fast laps but ultimately finished 24th. And this doesn’t even including Brad Keselowski dropping 33 fast laps.
The point I am trying to make here is that there are a ton of fast laps and laps led available in this race and grabbing as many of these points should be a focus of your lineup building.
My favorite to win heading into this race is Ryan Blaney. He has been fantastic on the intermediates in terms of pure speed. He is also elite on long green flag runs which this race can deliver. I expect him to contend of the win this weekend.

Monaco GP - Formula 1
Formula one will get the Greatest Day in Motorsports kicked off from Monaco on Sunday Morning. Something crucial for this race is the mandatory two stops needed to complete the race. Typically an F1 race requires teams to utilize two tire compounds. However, this weekend will see teams forced into stopping twice instead of the previous one mandatory tire swap.
The goal of this is to create more suspense and strategy to hopefully make the race more entertaining. It is damn near impossible to pass on this circuit. Thus we have the new rules for this week to spicy things up.
I have a lot of thoughts on this and how I believe it will impact the slate which I will cover in depth during the F1 podcast this weekend at DailyFanRacing.com.
Lastly, qualifying for Monaco is my absolute favorite of the year. Claiming the pole for this race means everything. There is nothing that carries more drama than having the best drivers in the world running fractions of an inch off the wall and qualifying within a tenth of a second of each other. The impact of nailing the qualifying lap is HUGE and often results in a race win here.
